The day is approaching fast and we thought it would be more than useful for all you ticket holders to know more about what you can expect on the day of the event…

Food and drink

First and foremost, prepared to be fully catered for. We have absolutely everything covered when it comes to food and drink. A wide range of local food and wine purveyors have shown incredible support this year and will ensure you don’t spend a moment of the day thirsty or hungry. No need to BYO here. With vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and (even) raw options available; expect MasterChef rather than The Hunger Games.

Parking

Parking will be available at the council carpark next to the Library and Rugby Fields. All-day tickets available. We ask that you crack a window for any friends that forgot to get a ticket.

Scheduling

Doors will open at 12pm with guest registration at 1215pm. We will be seating everybody by 1245pm for a 1pm start. Unfortunately the moment those doors close, we cannot permit entry until the next break due to the nature of live performance and recording. If you need to exit the hall at any point during the talks, we will ask you to wait until the next break to re-enter. A full schedule of the day will be given to you during registration

Entertainment

TEDxQueenstown will be a treat for the mind, body and soul; so we have made sure that during the break-outs there will be plenty to entertain. There will be competitions and games and Queenstown friend and supporter, Lululemon Queenstown, will be joining us for the day to fulfill our yoga needs during the breaks with a zen zone. They will also be running a special, complimentary TEDxQueenstown yoga class on the day of our event!

CONNEXIONS

As well as being this year’s theme, we realise you need to be connected with all those silly friends that missed out on a ticket and are waiting at home for news from the day. We will have free Wifi available for you in the Memorial Hall, and we fully encourage you to connect with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (funnily enough, they’re all called ‘TEDxQueenstown’). Tag us, tweet us, hashtag, comment, talk, share…CONNECT. But respect the speakers, and turn your phone on silent during talks. They might be a bit nervous, there’s quite a few of you guys.

After-party

But, wait… there’s more. But we’ve had so much fun already I hear you cry! Join us at Smiths Craft Beer House on Shotover Street from 8pm to chew over the day’s events over a pint of locally-crafted ale.
